Tele-Entry Made Easy.

Access Security Panels are often outdated systems that can be difficult to navigate. Many panels feature convoluted step-by-step processes that can frustrate visitors as they attempt to reach the resident. Information displays are frequently positioned at inconvenient distances from car windows, and buttons are often difficult to read, particularly in low-light conditions. The keypad design, reminiscent of antiquated pay-phone systems, tends to be cluttered with commands, overwhelming users with numerous functions assigned to the # and * buttons. The challenge was to transform these technical constraints and complexities into an intuitive and user-friendly device.

My Contributions to the Nortek Team:

  • Developed storyboards and created prototypes to illustrate concepts and interactions, validating workflows in the process.

  • Conducted user testing and gathered feedback in various settings to inform design decisions.

  • Designed the user interface (UI) and specifications for the embedded UI.

  • Collaborated extensively with Engineering and Industrial Design teams to enhance the user journey and ensure UI alignment with established workflows.
